The most architectural surface in the room: saturated fields set like masonry into pale mortar channels over a dark ground, the paint laid thick enough to throw its own shadow. It reads simultaneously as an aerial city grid and as pure chromatic composition, the color-square logic Klee worked out, rebuilt here with a mason's hand. Complements sit one block apart -- red against green, orange against cobalt -- so every field rings against its neighbors without ever touching.
