Catalogue note
A self-portrait as a hand mirror: one head holding four faces in four palettes, none of them ranked. The ground splits into two dry-brushed fields, green against red-violet -- near-complements that make each other louder -- while heavy black contour holds the figure the way lead lines hold stained glass. The scribbled crown and the white radiating marks by the ear belong to the Basquiat lineage he names himself; the mirror full of selves is his own argument.
