Catalogue note
An allover composition in the strict sense: no center, no resting place, interlocking faces, ladders and suns from edge to edge. A hot register of cadmium red, orange and chrome yellow is interrupted just often enough by cobalt and green, and a black line-grid does the traffic control. Art history calls the impulse horror vacui, the fear of empty space; here it reads as its opposite -- a block with room for everybody.
