Catalogue note
A lesson in color temperature: a cadmium-yellow duck against warm coral sky, anchored by one band of cool turquoise water. The feathering is never blended -- layered directional strokes of orange, violet and black left distinct, so the body vibrates the way broken color does. The wit is structural: spectacles, a bowtie, the sun drawn as one of his recurring glyph-faces, and a duckling in plain outline keeping the big one company.
